Great restaurant in positano. Typical fare with a lot of seafood and the prices were extremely reasonable. In the US, the wine is generally around 2-3x what you see in a store, but here it was very reasonable. Wait staff was helpful and never rushed us.

I was looking forward to a nice large wild Bass fillet but what I got was a small, disappointing one. We were in a large group and ultimately thought that the meal was over priced for what it was. The restaurant itself is very nice and the staff very good.

Friendly service including a free prosecco glass while you wait.. but.. the food was honestly not up to standard and this ended up being our most expensive meal at 100 euros. I would highly recommend the burrata but our entrees were not up to par. The waitress recommended the restaurant special of the tagliolini with shrimp & lemon and it was so really bad. Extremely overcooked to the point it was almost soggy.. You'd ask why didn't we just send it back, it was because the flavor overall was flavorless except a strong seafood odor and taste. Further, the sauce texture was not great at all. We decided to just try and finish it, but we could not bring ourselves to. Don't order that dish. And also.. perhaps it was an off night or a new chef was cooking. I'm not sure, but the prices here are not worth.

Best restaurant in Positano (relative value)! So good that we came back twice. Amazing food, every dish was spectacular. Our waiter from both nights was incredible, surprised us with a special appetizer and was beyond attentive. A must try!

My husband and I are food lovers! This restaurant was absolutely amazing in every aspect. We highly recommend going to this restaurant. It is hands down the best in positano. A tip - go a little later or make a reservation to avoid waiting in line.

Life changing Gnocchi. Family owned since the begining! You can see the kitchen is built around the cliff face, amazing atmosphere and service. Thank you for accommodating us. Also you need to book at least a month in advance. You might be super lucky with a walk in, if you do try go for an early seating around 5:30/6pm.

Don’t believe the hype. This was meant to be our amazing dinner in our final night on the Amalfi Coast and it disappointed greatly. Opener of squid and potatoes was bland, pasta with mussels caccio e pepe was good tasting but overly salted, and final dish (secondi piatti) of prawns was just a fried calamari dish you’d find in a pub anywhere across North America (but for 25 euros). Do yourself a favour and go to Il Ritrovo instead.

Had a fun time waiting outside with some Prosecco. The food was excellent, especially the Panna Cota dessert. The mussels were very good. The service was great to us which made the night that much more enjoyable

Food, hospitality, venue was all wonderful!!! Our server was fantastic and took his time to give us suggestions. We made resos in advance and were lucky enough to have our reso out in the alley overlooking Positano. Lots of good veg options, wine selection was great and overall highly recommend.

Da Vincenzo was the second restaurant on our 10 day honeymoon that we went to after arriving from Connecticut since it was so close to our villa on the Fornillo side of Positano. We did our homework and booked the reservation 2 1/2 months in advance since it’s on the Michelin Guide for this year, 2019. Let me first explain that this does not mean it has an actual Michelin star. The ratings for Michelin are as follows from the bottom up: 5) There’s the Michelin Plate, which means simple good food with fresh
ingredients and is accompanied with the icon of a plate from the Michelin Guide handbook and Michelin website, 4) then there is what Michelin calls the Bib Gourmand, which Michelin awards to restaurants to have good food for the value of it’s cost, it’s icon is the Michelin mans face 3) Michelin now starts the star ratings starting with 1 star which means, a very good restaurant, 2) Michelin’s 2 stars indicate a place worth a detour, and 1) Michelin’s 3 star rating, the best of the best, means exceptional cuisine, worth a special journey. Da Vincenzo after looking on the Michelin Guide website, has a Michelin Plate rating.

The location is beautiful. My husband and I had the outdoor patio seating closer to the door so you actually can see across the street to view the beautiful Tyrrhenian Sea. Our waiter was nice but you could tell, this is a job to him and not a passion to serve. Con: they do not have their menu on their website for dining guests to see in advance. Since they offered so many pasta dishes because they mostly make the pasta in-house, I decided to try their tubettini pasta with mussels in a wine/butter sauce. When it arrived, the tubettii was massive in size, not tiny like I’m used to, there were no mussel shells, the mussel meat is loose in the bowl and then the wine/butter sauce below. It was completely over salted. The server never went out of his way to explain what this dish was and how it would be presented so of course I was disappointed. I found from the waiter at Buca di Bacco (their servers are outstanding and informative!) that there are different sizes to each type of pasta and it’s based on a number system. So what I think happened, the server at Da Vincenzo didn’t tell me that their Tubettini is a larger number size than what Americans are used to. We are used to size 42-62 sized. I then proceeded to order their ‘local fish’ dish which is called Umbrina. Fish is light like Cod and had a massive thick coating of crust on the outside which I liked but it also was accompanied by endives and olives. The endives are steamed and sautéed....not fresh and crisp so the texture was a surprise. Bottom line, make those waiters work for your money and ask very specific questions about how each dish is prepared and what to expect it to look like because they will not go out of their way to explain this to you, which is iron since they don’t put their menu online, this leaves guests up to them to be the bold ones to ask.

Side note: I will say that since you are eating in Positano where it would virtually be a sin to dine indoors and not eat Al Fresco, this is probably the only restaurant I wouldn’t mind eating indoors. The interior design is amazing and unique.

Last Side Note: A great place to get a souvenir is their own gift shop right next to the restaurant. The aprons are for sale that the waitstaff also wears so you know its good quality and made of good material.

I give it 2 stars. I would give it less but the food was very good. The wait staff was rude. Inattentive. When we asked for some fresh Parmesan, the server got angry and dumped a 1/4 cup on my spouses meal. Corrected the words we tried to speak in Italian. They may get a Michelin Star for the food. But they get a zero for service. Many of the guests sitting around us felt the same way.

We went here for brunch around 12:30pm. It was fantastic. Service was great and there was enough olive oil and bread before the meal, and between appetizer and main course. The appetizers and mains were both a hit. Mussels, and Ravioli were the best in Positano. Returned here for dinner the next day.

We stumble upon this Michelin star rated restaurant on our "Walk of Italy" tour, and had less than 2 hours to eat. Our waiter did a phenomenal job on waiting our table and gave us enough time to make it back to the dock and catch our ferry.
