Amazing sea food. Very well priced. Staff was very nice and gave us free appetizers to start and free alcohol to end. 10/10 would recommend. If I am ever here again, we will be eating here 100%.

Cucina tradizionale in ambiente semplice, pulito e accogliente. Il rapporto qualità prezzo è molto alto, il servizio veloce (eravamo in pochi nel locale) e il personale molto gentile e disponibile. Ci tornerei sena dubbio.

Compliments of the season. We had a fabulous extended Christmas lunch here. The set menu proved delicious and the service excellent. An easy to find restaurant particularly if you are visiting the Palazzo Conte Federrico because it is directly opposite. Also just below the The Palazzo dei Normanni. Great Sicilian food.

Sat here for a quick bite while we waited for the next Palazzo Conte Frederico tour to start. We had the Antipasto Siciliano and it was a platter of different fried foods. It was absolute fried goodness and the guy was sensitive to our time. Fantastic

Locale un po' fuorimano, trovato per caso dopo avere girovagato un po per Palermo!! Questa è l'unica pecca che lo rende forse non immediatamente raggiungibile!! Peccato perche la cucina è davvero molto curata e abbondante. Personale molto cordiale, il proprietario ci ha offerto un ottimo limoncello fatto da lui. Consigliatissimo

Il cliente prima di tutto...
L'obiettivo dei titolari è mettere il cliente a proprio agio, facendolo partecipe di tutto ciò che dopo poco mangerà; ogni cibo che arriva in tavola è presentato con una cura meticolosa da parte dello chef... È un piacere conoscere le origini del cibo, le modalità di preparazione e le varianti apportate dal cuoco alla ricetta originale. Abbiamo optato per il menù fisso, offerto solo a pranzo; comprendente un antipasto formato da piccoli assaggi di ricette tipiche locali, un abbondante primo, un secondo ed una bevanda. Io ho preso il menù di terra, mentre mia moglie il menù di mare; entrambi buonissimi!!! L'unica pecca è l'ubicazione della location, situata in un quartiere del centro storico, che dovrebbe essere valorizzato meglio dal comune di Palermo. Assolutamente consigliato.

Une arnaque ! Je commande des pâtes à la trapanese, on me sert des pâtes avec des bouts de tomate crue, soi-disant une version "plus légère", il manquait juste le basilic, l'ail, le pecorino, les amandes... Ils se sont bien foutu de moi ! Le plat de mon compagnon laissait à désirer aussi : du poisson frit avec de la salade iceberg en accompagnement. Le guide du routard 2019 n'est pas à jour pour cette adresse, ne vous y fiez pas !

Eravamo stati in questo ristorante tre anni fa ed eravamo stati piacevolmente stupiti della cucina raffinata e curata. Tornando a Palermo, abbiamo deciso di ritornarci ma abbiamo avuto una brutta sorpresa. Appena entrati nel locale, ci siamo resi conto che qualcosa era cambiato, a partire dai menu, piu adatti ad una trattoria turistica che ad un ristorante gourmet. Abbiamo chiesto se il locale avesse cambiato gestione e ci è stato detto che "lo chef era andato in vacanza" . Non c'era una carta dei vini e alla richiesta di un vino ci veniva consigliato un vino della casa che si rivelava di qualità mediocre. Nella pasta alla norma che abbiamo ordinato c'erano solo 6-8 pezzi di melanzana, per giunta piuttosto amari. Gli involtini di pesce spada erano assolutamente ordinari e il conto di 55 euro era comunque salato, considerando la qualità mediocre della cena. Sarebbe stato meglio dire chiaramente che la gestione era cambiata: avremmo tarato di conseguenza le nostre attese.

Food was good but nothing special nor particularly abundant. We spent 86 euros for 2 first courses, 2 main courses of fish and a bottle of (good) wine, which seems too much for what we got. In particular, it was really offsetting to be charged 5 euros (!!!) for a small shot of limoncello, which is normally offered in Italian restaurants.

It deserves 10 stars. It’s homely, delicious, at a secluded corner, with delicious white wine in big glasses. The staff are your best friends, and cozze and pasta ai frutti di mare are a heaven. Do try, it’s something you can’t get anywhere else.

La vecchia gestione, con piatti tipici rivisitati e di ottima qualità ha lasciato il posto ad un menù risicato e non di eccelsa qualità. Prezzi alti, non si può pagare 5 euro un bicchierino di limoncello... 30 euro a persona per un antipasto condiviso e un secondo con una bottiglia di vino... Bocciato!

This restaurant in the heart of Ballarò serves some delicious dishes, with a kind and warm welcoming atmosphere. The staff loves children, which are welcomed inside and outside the restaurant. Our 2-year old daughter had a great time playing with the local kids out in the street in front of the restaurant. The chef was very attentive and personally came out to check that we enjoyed our food. Overall, one of the highlights of our Sicily vacation!

Sitting at the end of a quiet street, Al Fondaco del Conte served one of the most authentic meals I had in Palermo. Offering simple food cooked well, the menu is short and succinct but covers a range of delicious meat and fish dishes. When I visited the squid and sea bream were cooked to perfection, and while the owners’ English isn’t great they were welcoming and made us both feel very welcome.

The restaurant certainly isn’t the cheapest, but nor is it particularly expensive. An antipasti, plate of pasta, two main courses and a bottle of wine came to €75.

Some of the other reviews mention the fact the restaurant is on a ‘dangerous’ street, considering it’s a two minute walk from the main streets of Palermo, if this is enough to put you off it may be best to stick to the tourist traps in the city centre.

All in all Al Fondaco del Conte offers unpretentious food at a good price, and is a great way to experience the unbelievably good quality seafood available in Palermo!

Luogo da dimenticare. Nonostante le ottime recensioni su Tripadvisor il ristorante è di pessima qualità. Già dalla presentazione del menu sono sorti i primi dubbi, la conferma ai nostri timori si è rivelata con le portate. Il pesce che viene consigliato per fresco in realtà si è rivelato immaginabile. Attenzione perché viene anche servito tutto insieme: dall'antipasto al dolce, per fortuna non avevamo chiesto ancora il caffè ... mai provato ne trovato in nessun posto un servizio così veloce. Comunque per chi si avventura in questo luogo il bello arriva con il conto, molto salato e fresco al contrario del pesce....

Pessimo servizio e personale incompetente. Siamo entrati nel ristorante premettendo che andavamo di fretta e concordando che avremmo avuto un servizio veloce e non è stato assolutamente così tanto che dopo un'ora senza essere serviti stavamo pensando di andarcene. Abbiamo ordinato pesce spada e dopo mezzora ci è stato detto che non era più disponibile, al posto delle triglie ci hanno portato sarde senza neanche informarci pensando che non ce ne accorgesimo. ASSOLUTAMENTE SCONSIGLIATO e troppo costoso in relazione sia alla quantità che alla qualità.
