WARNING: Terrible Porada Experience:
When I decided to refurnish my apartment I did a lot of research. In the end I decided to pay the high cost of the Porada Elika table 4400 euro - as I loved the style and felt that with the Porada name I was paying for a quality product and excellent service.
I received my table on April 13, 2018
On May 4th I wrote the Mobilcasa agent to inform her that in dusting the base of the table I noticed several cracks. I was told that "this is to be expected with wood" For the money that I paid for the table this was unacceptable. and certainly not expects. Let me be clear, I do not accept that this is “normal”. I have Minotti furniture and Tonin Casa furniture and have not had this problem. When I lived in Canada all the wood pieces in my home were handcrafted, and I never had this problem. People who came into my home and saw the cracks were shocked given the money that I spent.
May 7 -Received an email from Mobilcasa that she had spoken to a Prada agent.
June - End of June a Porada agent came to my home.
October 4 - Received a letter from Porada stating that the problems were to be expected purchasing a wood piece. I wrote to Mobilcasa stating that I do not accept it.
November 5 - Told that the table needed to go back to Porada for repairs and it would take 3 weeks. How is something that is “normal” with wood in need of such repair that it takes three weeks?! Why was I shipped a table that was so defective that it needed 3 weeks to be repaired?!
December - I had my first dinner party with the table. After one dinner the top has numerous scratches. Again friends who have come by cannot believe that a Porada table, for the money charged, would so easily scratched. Nowhere on the details sheet for the table does it warn the consumer that the table easily scratches. I have a Tonin Casa coffee table that has experienced many parties: there is not one scratch on it.
Over the course of this past year I have had to write Mobilcasa several times to make sure that action was being taken. Weeks would go by with no response to emails. I then was left to calling. More time would pass.
It is ridiculous and in no way can be justified that over a year from reporting the defects in the table that it was finally taken for repair just this past week. And I have been told that my table will not be returned until the end of July!!!. What kind of customer service is this!!! Alberto Battablia, Porada, stated to me that when I wrote Porada of the problem they acted promptly to call me as that is the kind of care that Porada likes to demonstrate to its customer. Porada has in fact known about the problem for over a year, so I very much do not feel like Porada has cared. Frankly, I am left feeling that Mobilcasa and Porada just hoped that I would get frustrated and go away. On June 18th Alberto Battablis told me that I would be hearing from the Italian Manager "shortly". Again, weeks have past and i have not heard from Porada.
In refurnishing my apartment i have purchased pieces from several high end manufacturers. Porada is the only manufacturer that I have been disappointed in. I am still waiting to hear from them.
At this point I expect the table to be repaired or my money refunded. I want the scratches removed from the top. Given what I have gone through in the past year I think it is the least that Porada can do. From there I will recognize the disappointing quality of my Porada table and always use a table cloth: as opposed to placemats.
I trust that you will be embarrassed by this situation and take positive action.
