Positive: L'ambiente, la posizione, lo staff molto gentile e collaborativo. Consiglio le camere con vista mare. La stanza è molto ampia e il letto molto comodo.. Negazione: I 60 gradini per raggiungere la stanza. Per una persona giovane è un bell'esercizio, per chi ha una certa età un po' meno..

We spent 4 nights here in early February. The city is quiet at this time of year but it's a really nice time to visit and this was a perfect place to stay. Our room on the second floor overlooked the ocean (from across the street). There was a wind storm while we were there and the waves were wonderful and intense at times. ||||The staff members are excellent, helpful, and offered good suggestions for restaurants and places to visit. There isn't an elevator but staff member Davide carried our luggage to our room. This was our third visit to Ortigia and Domus Mariae our favorite of the places we've stayed. It's a bit out of the city center but that's part of it's charm.||||Breakfast is served across the street at Domus Mariae Bennessere. It was good with fresh-made cakes, pastries, homemade yogurt, delicious jams and more. Be sure to ask to see the Church of St. Filippo Neri in the same location.||||The bathroom is spotlessly clean though the shower ensemble was a bit odd but functional. There is a TV in the room with International channels and the WiFi was good.||||We were very happy with our stay here and will return on our next visit to Ortigia! ||||Thank you!

Positive: Squisito lo yogurt di propria produzione e la ricotta freschissima e squisita del primo giorno; ottime anche le confetture di frutta. Pessima la frutta "fresca" banane,mandarini dall'aspetto non invitante ma questo è un problema di tutte le strutture alberghiere siciliane che non valorizzano le proprie delizie. Ottimo il ciambellone casereccio ed il servizio e cortesia del personale. migliorerei anche la qualità delle brioches palesemente (prodotto congelato) da riscaldare prima dell'uso.. Positiva: La ubicación excelente, a pesar de estar en el centro de Ortigia está en una zona muy tranquila cerca del mar, y con zonas de aparcamiento cerca (atención con las zonas reservadas). Las indicaciones y el trato de recepción, excepcionales. El desayuno se hace en el hotel, muy bueno. Las habitaciones son muy amplias. Las vistas muy bonitas (aunque haya que pagar un suplemento por las vistas al mar, quizá no sea necesario). Negativa: Por poner una pega, que no haya ascensor en el hotel (aunque se informa de ello en la reserva)..

Ho prenotato questo hotel perché si trova sul lungomare di Ortigia a due passi dal centro. Premesso che Domus Maria dispone di due strutture distinte, una con centro benessere e l'altra come albergo /dependance, noi abbiamo prenotato nella seconda e ci siamo trovati molto bene. Camera molto spaziosa e confortevole (ci sono anche con vista mare se si è fortunati), colazione (che si effettua nel centro benessere) veramente appropriata con ampia scelta di prodotti dolci e salati ed un personale decisamente cortese ed accogliente. L'unico vero neo è la mancanza dell'ascensore per raggiungere la reception (al primo piano) e le stanze. Comunque lo consiglio a chi non ha problemi nel salire le scale

Positiv: Das Personal ist ausgesprochen freundlich und zuvorkommend. Beim Einchecken wurde sich auch um das Parkticket gekümmert. Das Frühstück war richtig gut, die Auswahl üppig, es blieb kein Wunsch unerfüllt, von süß bis herzhaft war alles vorhanden. Der Kaffee ist richtig gut, man bestellt am Tisch und bekommt dann den Wunschkaffee an den Tisch gebracht. Vom Hotel aus kann man alles in Ortygia zu Fuss erledigen..

This was the first hotel of our 16 day trip and we knew this bar was set high. Loved everything about our stay. We had a spacious room with a gorgeous sea view! At night we could hear the waves crashing. Location was great, just a couple blocks from the parking garage. Staff was wonderful! Bathroom was good with a modern shower, plenty of hot water and room for our stuff. There were extra pillows and the bed was comfy. Breakfast was across the street in the sister hotel, very easy and lovely. There was also a rooftop terrace with a nice view. We would love to go back!

Abbiamo alcuni giorni in questo hotel con pernottamento e prima colazione. Le camere molto spaziose ed accoglienti, la posizione davvero strategica, in quanto si trova a due passi dal centro e da un grande parcheggio, la varietà della colazione molto buona ed un personale ricettivo che è il suo punto di forza, Davide, Cinzia e tutti i ragazzi/ragazze della reception, della sala colazione e anche delle pulizie, si fanno in quattro per metterti a tuo agio e darti una mano se necessario.Consigliato.

We stayed 1 night in Syracuse and really enjoyed our stay at Domus Mariae Albergo. One huge bonus for us was the ability to drive right up to the property and drop off our luggage. This isnt always possible when traveling in Italy. As mentioned by other reviewers, this property doesnt have an elevator so if you large luggage, this might be a challenge. Our room was pretty basic, but because we werent in Syracuse for very long, location was most important for us. The property is close to historical sites in Ortigia and has great restaurants nearby. In addition to that, the staff at Domus Mariae Albergo were extremely friendly and helpful. The clerk at the front desk even took the initiative to note down our license plate and register our car while we got settled into our rooms. Free parking is available near the property but is very limited so we ended up parking in a paid lot. Overall, we had a very pleasant stay here.

A first class hotel for walking around Ortigia as it is central yet very quiet. However the breakfast was disappointing and if you did not get in early there was often not much left.||||The room was spacious but the air con did not work properly despite being told twice that it was fixed. A bit tired is the best description of the hotel.

Fantastic location right on the waterfront and in a typical Ortigan street within easy walking distance to main piazza and ocean side swimming platform, although be careful walking at night on weekends where it would seem the local louts like hassling tourists, which is what happened to us||The hotel is run by a group of nuns, which in my travels makes this a nice, but interesting experience ||The rooms are large by Italian standards, with big comfortable beds and interesting bathrooms||Cinsia at the front desk was very helpful enthusiastic and knowledgeable about local restaurants and activities ||Because we liked this quaint hotel so much we offer the following suggestions. ||Maintenance issues in bathroom - fix attachment of towel rail and toilet seats, access to shower is difficult with existing door layout and poor shower drainage. ||Roof garden and lounge area is very pretty with a view of the coastline and would be enhanced if refreshments we’re available ||Breakfast is offered at the sister (pardon the pun) hotel across the road and is basic in its range of foods, with many items running out early and were not replenished||With a little work, this hotel could be a 4

We had a lovely stay here. The staff are absolutely wonderful! They recommended marvelous places for dinner and lunch, were so helpful making sure we were comfortable. The view from our room was AMAZING. We looked right out onto the sea. So beautiful! The location of the hotel is fantastic for seeing the historic part of Syracuse and we will definitely stay there again if ever we are in town.

My husband and I stayed at this beautiful well kept hotel for 3 nights. The staff were amazing and the hotel was spotless. The rooms were spacious and well kept. The air conditioning worked well and we had a lovely balcony overlooking the street. This hotel was an old convent and sometimes we saw the sisters walking around the hotel. it had a great vibe to it and we were able to walk around Syracuse, to the main square and to all of the little quaint streets nearby. It was in a good location. The breakfast was amazing and had a lot of variety and home baked cakes. I would definitely recommend and will definitely stay here again.

Nous avons découvert un hôtel bien situé au centre de Syracuse. Un peu compliqué cependant pour y parvenir puisqu'il faut garer la voiture dans un parking à 300 m de l'hôtel. La chambre était spacieuse et propre, mais sans beaucoup de charme.

Domus Mariae Albergo si trova a Ortigia, la zona storica di Siracusa. Se si arriva in auto occorre porre un minimo di attenzione a dove si posteggia per via delle zone riservate ai residenti ma il personale è estremamente attento a dare il consiglio giusto.||Le stanze sono molto spaziose e pulite, buona anche la colazione.

Very comfortable bed in a spotlessly clean room. Staff helpful and friendly. Hotel located well in Ortigia. Breakfast disappointing. Often food not replenished and no plates available. Typical Italian breakfast very sweet fare offered. No toaster available and the room was overcrowded and did not really work
