We requested a beautiful room with a balcony for a very special birthday celebration after staying here in 2018. The room we received in 2019 was a room half the size of the room in 2018 (which was a downgraded room).It was so cramped we had to put a suitcase in the bathroom in order to maneuver around the room. We immediately went to the front desk the evening we checked in, and told them the room was way too small, and cramped, and we needed to move into a more spacious room like the rooms we stayed in and had been shown in 2018. We were told that there was a large wedding party that arrived earlier and that they occupied the bigger rooms and that we would have assistance in moving to a larger more lux room the next morning. The next morning, we went to the front desk personally 5 different times, and called from our room numerous times to get this issue resolved. We were put off time after time in a very arrogant rude manner, and told that the General Manager, Mr. Sapia would be at the hotel to take care of our issue. Finally, the 5th time we went to the front desk we were told Mr. Sapia wasn’t coming and that he rarely makes appearances at the hotel, and we could move into a room that was the same size or smaller. At this time Ms. Monica Agus, the front desk manager stated she didn’t have authority to issue a credit, but that she would speak to the manager in charge of that and work to get us a credit on our behalf. We checked out of the hotel and moved to a beautiful suite (that was less than the room at Hotel Miramare) at the Imperial Palace. Hotel Miramare refused to refund for the 4 nights we paid upfront for, and charged us for the full 4 nights after we checked out staying only 1 night. This hotel should be downgraded to 3 stars, at best.

My husband and I stayed here for our first visit to the area. The hotel was lovely. The staff was attentive. The rooms were spotless and had a very comfortable bed. We had a view over the water. And the breakfast was great. We felt pampered and well cared for. They even had umbrellas for the guests to use as it was rather rainy when we were there. While it is more expensive than some of the other places I looked at, it was worth the extra.

We spent a lovely Christmas at this hotel. The lunch was superb, and all the staff and family (who own it) were so kind to us, we really had a good time, thank you all for a memorable Christmas, we will never forget such a special place. We will be back!

Так же отель приятно удивил , что когда бронировала номер брала с видом на сад , дали с видом на море, это было прекрасно. Обслуживание отличное , заботливый персонал . Отличный номер . Отель выбрала моя подруга, я не был уверен что надо платить так много в это время года, но результате мы провели время с удовольствием. Это первая линия, самая крутотень. Вместо оплаченного номера с видом во двор нам дали с видом на море без доплаты. Номер прекрасный, жаль что погода была пасмурная. В баре обслуживали на отлично. Гильермо нам посоветовал два отличных ресторана, за что ему отдельное спасибо. Завтрак очень качественный, можно было не уходить оттуда до обеда)) Единственное разочарование это то что СПА было закрыто, это печалька! А так локация отличная, обслуживание и еда тоже, рекомендую.

Au petit soin pour l’équipes de femmes de chambres. |Un petit déjeuner très agréable vu mer et très copieux. |Au final le voiturier était très agréable et le réceptionniste très gentil et courtois. Nous avons beaucoup apprécié le séjour et surtout cette vue mer est incroyable. Je recommande vivement cette hôtel.

Un hotel con clase. Vistas magníficas a la bahía. Una cristalera en el hall que ofrece una imagen de postal de los jardines de la parte de atrás del hotel. Atención exquisita, pendientes del cliente anticipándose a sus necesidades en todo momento. No me extiendo en temas de limpieza, calidad de la ropa blanca o amenities porque se da por hecho en un hotel de esta categoría. Un acierto.

Great old charm feel. Outside grounds are splendid. Elevators are quite small but I guess that is normal for and old Grand Hotel. Breakfast was included and it was delightful.

My friends and I recently did a girls' trip and spent 2 nights at this hotel. The room was lovely, especially the balcony overlooking the water. Santa Margherita was a good place to stay while we visited Cinque Terre, as it seemed less hectic than the Cinque Terre towns, and it was accessible to Cinque Terre by train (train station is about a 15 minute walk from the hotel). The service at the hotel was very good. The front desk was very helpful in giving us advice on visiting Cinque Terre.

We stayed in an Air BnB, BUT this hotel was very accommodating when it came to parking. They have safe, secure underground parking and charged 22.50 Euro per night to park there. The only caution flag is getting your car down there is a real pain because the paths are so darn narrow! This hotel also has locked garages (not sure about the cost) for rent too. They are also underground, so if you have a really expensive car, you can make a deal with Pierre (BEFORE you come to Italy) and arrange to have it stored here while you use public transportation to explore these coastal cities.

Positive: The hotel is well located. Staff was alright, didn’t look happy but were cordial.. Negative: The room terrasse was really small. We got almost kicked out of the restaurant for breakfast. Had the amenities and towels trolley parked in the door of our room for the whole stay. I think for the money I spent I could’ve got a better hotel..

We loved this hotel the views were amazing. The rooms beautiful and the breakfast the best in our 5 weeks in Italy.||The private beach with lounges across the road were great. The pool lovely and all the staff very helpful.

Positive: Staff molto gentile e accogliente. Ristorante ottimo con terrazza sul mare. Le stanze vengono riordinate anche nel pomeriggio.. Negazione: Pessimo rapporto qualità prezzo. Hotel affacciato sul mare ma rimasto fermo agli anni 80. Bagni antichi, con la vasca. Assenza di un bollitore in camera per the o caffè. Il riscaldamento non si poteva accendere, abbiamo dovuto chiedere un termosifone elettrico ..

Semplicemente il meglio che si possa chiedere… inutile discutere sul prezzo! quando cerchi l'eccellenza certi dettagli sono ovvi, sicuramente tornerò

A very good hotel with an excellent location. Welcoming staff, very well maintained property with the family owners clearly investing in upkeep and painting the property on a regular basis. A relaxing, classical elegance with a magnificent sea view and lovely common areas both outdoors and indoors. There is a pool but it needs either cleaning or resurfacing. A lovely bar, very well made cocktails and expertly managed spa services. A gem not to be missed. We stayed in 418 a small suite with a lovely balcony. They provide a complimentary non-alcoholic mini-bar which is very helpful and daily 2 bottles of water. Breakfast in the restaurant or outside on the terrace overlooking the ocean is always a great pleasure.

We totally enjoyed our beautiful stay at this magnificent hotel! The lobby bar was so cozy and had great drinks. The included breakfast was a delicious spread of everything you can imagine! No need for lunch! The grounds and view are breathtaking. Gorgeous pool area. Our room was incredible with a sitting area, huge bedroom. large bathroom and 2 separate balconies overlooking the sea. The staff was delightful and it was in a perfect location, close to the shops, restaurants and only a mile from the train station. I can hardly wait to return!! Ciao!!

Very well located for its sea view, a stroll around the quayside, dining choices in town. Our sea view room wasn't as quiet as my wife needs (but fine for me...); we were moved with minimum fuss to a nice room overlooking the garden & with balcony. Well staffed for your needs to be met, and for me the high point was breakfast with a great range of the choices you want. Passed the croissant test!

The hotel is located just a few steps outside the lively town of Santa Margherita, above the coastal road to Portofino. Unique surroundings: subtropical gardens, woods, bays. Breathtaking views of the sea and the Ligurian coast. ||||Impressive Grand Hotel from the Belle Epoque period, when travelling still had style and quality. And this is the motto of the hotel: The investments seem to be done wisely by the owner family. The whole hotel complex incl. the pool area are very well maintained and are of high quality.|| ||Even in high season and with full occupancy the house runs like a swiss clockwork. The staff makes the Miramare a real gem. Everyone was so friendly, attentive and very professional. It was a great pleasure to experience and you get the feeling that people enjoy working here. || ||We ate "à la carte" several times in the restaurant Vistamare. Many other guests went to the village. So the restaurant and bar were not very crowded. The sea-side terrace has so much potential! Food and drinks are excellent. The music is pleasant and relaxing. The atmosphere in the evening hours was simply unforgettable... but somehow the guests were missing. Is there a possibility to bring them to this magical place, for example by offering half board and some great music in the bar?||||I highly recommend the Miramare and we will definitely come back soon to this charming place.

Summary: An old hotel with no gym and no night food is a 3 star hotel. I might give 4 stars for value but the price is too high for the amenities.

They market themselves as a leading hotel of the world member. So by definition they must be compared to an international standard. By this standard the pros are they speak English and the location is gorgeous and central. The cons are the hotel is very old (although well cared for), and their service leaves something to be desired. If you want food in the middle of the night or even a bowl to eat your own you're out of luck. Their is also no gym. Inside the rooms little things are old and don't make sense like cabinets with no handles requiring a small key. TV is tiny. Shower has the weird half glass tub that makes a huge mess that they do in Europe some places.

Best hotel in SML, we’ve stayed here a dozen or more time and have never been disappointed.

Tout était parfait! Juste le service à la piscine que nous n’avons pas vraiment eu et le piano bar sans musicien mais nous etions en basse saison probablement la raison. Tout est magnifique. A part les chaises a la plage qui sont bcp moins confortables qu’a la piscine. Nous recommandons grandement. A savoir stationnement 30 euros par jour.

Stayed 3 nights and was very impressed with the beauty, location, services, and overall charm of this grand hotel. We had 2 side by side rooms overlooking the beautiful garden. The balconies have a small seating area which was enjoyable and the breakfast each morning outdoors was very nice. Just across the street is the beach with lounges, changing rooms etc. but we didn’t use it due to the beautiful pool on the property. You can walk the entire town from this hotel.

We have stayed here a number of times and it continues to maintain high standards in all aspects. The concierge provides an efficient and friendly service. On our last stay I left an item in my room and on my recent visit I opened my room door and saw it waiting for me all carefully taken care of. The rooms provide luxurious comfort and great views. Looking forward to returning!

Had a beautiful short break at this gem on the riviera. The town itself and the setting are fantastic but the hotel is what made the trip for us. Beautiful grounds, impeccable rooms and the friendliest staff anywhere in Italy. Even though the weather wasn’t what we were hoping for, sitting out on the terrace after dinner, overlooking the bay and the swimming pool, with a bottle of wine made the sort of evening that one remembers forever. Thanks to everyone for making our stay perfect.
