They cheated us with car upgrading, due to not having the class we had reserved, nor from one class higher. The charged is about €150 more!!!
I was waiting in the wheelchair, and my naive husband didn't share with me the information until later.
I called Avis Tell Aviv only a few hours after we had left there, but nothing was done to help us!
Shame on you!
Just to make sure that everything actually would be fine when we arrived at the airport office, we also called Avis' european contact center. We explained the situation, were put on hold and finally informed by the clerk that she had spoken to the airport office and thad everything was just fine; they had a car waiting for us.
Very delayed, tired, sweaty and hungry we finally made it from Verona railway station to the airport. At Avis' desk, however, we were informed by a negligent clerk and her aggressive supervisor that "no one had talked to them" although they had been there "all day" and that this was considered a no-show. They had absolutely no car to offer us, wouldn't listen to our despair and simply told us that the problem was not theirs. We had to go tur to the negihbouring company (Europcar) instead and pay (again!) for another rental car.
We apperantly were totally wrong to believe that well-established companies like Avis were trustworthy. Never again! Avoid at all costs!
People at the AVIS Verona Aiport desk were friendly and helpful, contrary to some reviews here on Google. Their English speaking and understanding was reasonable and sufficient for Italian circumstances.
This was my first experience in renting a car/minibus/minivan and I checked all large car rental companies which had a desk at Verona Airport. I avoided the car rental "brokers" based on the very negative reviews on Google. In general I am very disappointed in the car rental "business" because it is impossible to compare prices and there is a forrest of unclear risk amounts for damage and theft and the prices varied from 2800 Euro with 1000 Euro risk for damage and 3000 Euro risk for theft and the AVIS deal which was 1888 Euro with 0 Euro risk for damage and 0 Euro risk for theft. Also when I called the car rental companies I would get total different rental amounts via the phone (sometimes more, sometimes less) and also different amounts for the risk for damage and theft. Also when I called on Thursday they would have different prices then when I called on Tuesday, very stupid. The excuse of the persons on the phone was always that they are working with "daily prices", totally stupid I would say.

Take extra caution when checking the vehicle over for pre-existing damage. The cars are parked in a dark parking lot which made it difficult to see any damage and no one came over to check the car over with us. We asked for someone but they said it was fine - HOWEVER once leaving the car park and arriving to our next destination my husband noticed a small dent above the car door handle which could not have happened on our journey there (and of course AVIS had marked zero damage on their check for the car). Fortunately we had third party insurance, but I feel that the company is negligent towards ensuring their customers are protected. We take fault for accepting the car as was and missing the damage, but as I said they did not make it easy for us to spot it in the first place.
I would have given them more stars had they been more helpful in checking over the car.
Never using Avis again!!!
No one told me that it was there before, and the car was parkt so I could't see it.
The rental office is very close to the arrivals area and only a few minutes walk from departures.
Returning the car was as easy as picking it up!
There is a gas station up the road where you can fill your rental car up prior to returning it.
Менеджер Avis Кристина ведёт себя по-хамски, создаёт проблемы клиентам, придумывает правила на свой вкус, оставляет отвратительное впечатление о AVIS, наверно рядовые сотрудники ещё «лучше». В солидных компаниях, которые заботятся о своих клиентах, от таких работников избавляются.
У меня был забронирован и оплачен 100% авто Мерседес-Бенц Е, но мне отказались его предоставить, менеджеру Кристине, просто не понравилась моя кредитная карта Банка Тиньков Платинум. Я попросил решить данную проблему, предложили другие варианты карт, даже готовы были на другой автомобиль, но Кристина стойко стояла на своём, её ничего не устраивало. В итоге машину не выдала, настроение испортила всей нашей семье из четырех человек, оставила отвратительное впечатление о работе компании AVIS.
Машину нам выдали с радостью в другом прокате рядом с AVIS, без всяких проблем и брони приняли все мои документы и карты. Есть же нормальные люди и сервис.
